Who of us has not enjoyed a frothy glass of beer while relaxing in a summer sidewalk cafe? Well here you have the perfect star pairing for this summer, the same in the company of each and every Ibérico product, although and indeed not the only one.
In the case of Acorn Fed Ibérico Ham nothing better than a LAGER, pale golden in color and cool fermented, to achieve a refreshing effect and ensure that its smooth flavors do not come into competition with the hues and nuances of the Ibérico product. Lager beers are also perfectly suited to Ibérico Loin and the other Ibérico cold meats, of course due to the same reasons.
ROASTED beers: These are richer in flavor than those mentioned above, as their nuances do not compete with the flavors, but rather complement the Ibérico products to perfection.
STOUT AND PORTER beers also combine beautifully with ham and Ibérico cold meats, although we must mention a touch of precaution and if possible to choose the milder stout beers; this is because since its flavor is of more intensity it may mask some of the hues and nuances of the Ibérico products.
And now, on a whole different level, we must mention ARTISAN beers, which right now are a raging trend. Each one with its own particularities, ranging from Whiskey hues right through to cherry nuances, and including a multitude of varieties. Special care must be put in place as depending on the added flavors they have they may come into direct competition with the more subtle nuances of our products
And then we encounter Sherries, Manzanilla (variety of a Fino sherry), Finos (dry and pale traditional varieties of Sherry and fortified wines) and Amontillados (variety of sherry, from the Montilla region), all of which represent the other fabulous companions of Acorn Fed Ibérico Ham during the summertime. Served icy cold and always turning to the less sweet varieties, these products pair beautifully with all Ibérico products, in fact their pairing is actually bordering on extraordinary. We are certainly not the discoverers of the fact that a good tapa of Acorn Fed Ibérico Ham and a glass of Fino (or Manzanilla) represents one of the most classic of the classics throughout the southern region of Spain. And finally, if we are looking to turn any occasion into a truly special one, well we break out the Cava or Champagne. Another perfect pairing in which the flavors complement each other instead of competing, wonderfully unfolding all its rich flavors and nuances.
